"Here Today" Page 1-50 Summary

 The story is about a girl named Eleanor Dingman or Ellie, she was named after the wife of a president of the United States by her mother, Doris Day Dingman. Doris has three children, Marie was the youngest, followed by Albert, and Ellie the oldest. Unlike others, Doris told her children to called her Doris instead of Mom, she said she felt better than calling Mom.

 

 The Dingmans lived in a town named Spectacle and a neighborhood called Witch Tree Lane. Why Witch Tree Lane? Because the street stood a big tree, which from generation to generation everyone were scared of that tree. Closely, the tree has eyes, long nose, and a mouth, so everyone concluded that the tree was a witch tree. Ellie's best friend was Holly, Holly Major. Holly's mother, Selena Major, became a mother at sixteen years old. Major was Selena's last name, not Holly's father's. No one know who was Holly's father, not even Holly. 

 

 Next to the Majors lived the Lauchaires. The Lauchaires moved to Spectacle from Belgium, and everybody spoke french. They have two children which were Etienne, who was nine years old and Albert's best friend, and Dominique, who was seven and on of Marie's best friends, the kids spoke English unless they aren't home. Across the street from the Lauchaires and next door to the Dingmans was the Levin's house. They lived-- David Levin, who was eleven like Ellie and Holly, Rachel, who was eight and friends with Domi Lauchaire and Marie, and Allan, who was six and he was the youngest kid on the street. The Witch Tree Lane kids went to Washington Irving Elementary. 

 

 Doris Day Dingman was talented, she do everything to let herself join every events that were fabulous, big, and that was the attention of all people's eyes. Doris has a very perfect shape of body. Unlike other kids' mother, Doris don't go to work like them, she spent most of her time finding events in newspaper and trying to make herself became famous. She was crowned to be the Bosetti Beauty Queen(an shopping mall/something famous). She went to learned for singing, dancing, acting, and modeling. Ellie and Doris have a very big different. Doris always wanted herself to be the middle of every men's and women's eyesight. But Ellie, she doesn't want to fight out people.

 People in Spectacle never think that the Witch Tree Lane kids and family were normal. The kids at school doesn't really want to talk to the Witch Tree Lane kids. So Ellie and the others have a very hard time at school. During the morning ride in school bus, every kids in the bus won't accept them to sit with, it was a really normal situation that the Witch Tree Lane needed to suffer.
