AFTER THE BALL! (CHARACTER)

1. Who is/ are the main character(s) in the story? What does the main charater look like?
: Ivan Vassilievich , according to the story, he is a fine man. His attitude toward others is lovely. I think his love is precious.

2. Describe the main charater's situation. Where does he/she live? Does he/she live alone or with others? What does the main character do for a living, or is he/she dependent on others for support?
: Ivan  is a German. He doesn't really tell much about himself, but more likely about his love life when he fell in love with the young girl named Varenka at the ball.

3. What are some of the chief characteristics (persosnaltiy traits) of the character? How are these characteristics revealed in the story? How does the main character interact with other characters? Note the degree of complexity of his/her behavior, thought, and feelings; their appearances, their habits, mannerisms, speech, attitudes, and values. What is the main character's attitude towards his/her life? Is he/she happy or sad, content or discontented? Why?
: He tells really good stories, basically at first it was lust, then it changed to love then suddenly later the next day it changes to anger then hatred then lastly loneliness. The only other character that are quite important is the love of his life  and the father of the love of his life.
: Varenka  at the age of fifteen she really beautiful. As when she turned 18 she was enchanting: tall, well-formed, graceful, majestic.
: Colonel - Varenka's father. Very handsome, white mustaches. Had a handsome built: long, well-formed legs, strong shoulders and strong chest .

4. What sort of conflict is the character facing? How is this conflict revealed? Is it resolved? If so, how?
:  He falls in love with Varenka and then after that the next morning when he went to meet Varenka. He saw Varenka's father beating up a man and doing some very bad things and this is where the conflict stands.

5. Is any character a developing character? If so, is his change a large or a small one? Is it a plausible cange for him? Is he sufficiently motivated? Is the change given sufficient time?
: He doesn't change any appearance. But inside, he changes how he feel about others, and judge differently than the past.

After the Ball: Plot Question

1. This story is about a man that falls in love with a woman that he met at the ball. The woman is very beautiful, pretty, nice, and kind. The main events of the story is at the hall where they meet. After they meet at the ball they knew eachother more. That was the first time they meet and begins after that.

2. The story was arranged chronologically.

3. Ivan Vassilievich, the main character, told the story.

4. Its a normal-paced, not too fast not too slow. I like this kind of story.

5. I think after Vassilievich meet Varenka, he fell in love with her and wanted to marry her. But then he found out that she already have a fiancee.

6. The conflicts are, her father like to torture people who doesn't listen to him, she doesn't love Vassilievich that much, and she is getting to marry.

7. When he finds out about Varenka's family.

8. It make sense. First he fell in love with Varenka, but then he found out that Varenka already have a fiancee, then he found about Varenka's dad, so this make him to make a second thought.

9. Its about a man who tell his story to the people who ask him. He was quite famous during his time. So many girls wanted him. So it make sense that everyone wanted to know his story about his love life time.
